When we returned from our day out exploring, our room had not been made up, so we found it dirty, which was disappointing. The room could benefit from secondary glazing as the noise from the main road was noticeable. Despite being somewhat small without a view, being on the mezzanine level offered a view of the castle, which was a nice touch.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful, from the young man serving us at breakfast to the lady at the check-in and the concierge gents. They were all a credit to the hotel in providing a friendly and helpful service throughout our stay.

My stay at the hotel was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were lovely and well laid out, although there was a bit of noise issue. The service was top-notch, with the staff being efficient and friendly from start to finish. The location was perfect, right at the west end of Princes St, making it easy to explore the city. Upon arrival, our room was quite a distance from the lift, tucked away near a service door where staff often passed through, but we did enjoy a lovely view of the castle once we craned our necks to see it. Wow, what a great experience at this hotel! From being upgraded to a King Premiere Suite thanks to our Hilton Honors status and the off-season fewer guests, to the exceptional service by the front desk, this stay was fantastic. The room itself was amazing, but a bit of a letdown with a dirty tissue in the corridor throughout our stay. Despite that, the overall experience was top-notch.
